Study multiplication facts nightly!


ELA:
Writing - Students will rough draft all the information they know about their topic. They will then use a planner to organize the subtopics underneath the main idea of the paper.
Mentor Sentence: Looking at mentor text and discussing how to incorporate style of various sentences into personal writing.

Week 15 Vocabulary Words - focus on "rupt" to break
transparent - sheer enough to be seen through

Reading: Informational Text & Features. Weekly comprehension practice 3 times a week for
morning work to build skills that will help on Milestones.
Summative on text features & structure: Friday, February 9th.
Social Studies:
European Exploration:
* Reasons for and obstacles to exploration
* Accomplishments of John Cabot, Vasco Nunez de Balboa, Hernando de Soto, Christopher Columbus,
Henry Hudson, and Jacques Cartier
Math: Study multiplication facts each night. Our geometry unit continues looking at shape attributes and
partition attributes
Homework:
* Read 30 minutes nightly
* Study multiplication facts
* Study vocabulary  - quiz February 9 on week 15 words
* IXL, Mobymax, Khan Academy
* Some students - orange fluency folder (read nightly and answer questions)

March 2 - Mother/Son Event

Students have log-ins for the following programs and can practice at home: IXL, Khan Academy,
